Had my 28th birthday while enjoying a lock-in. After 3 hours of sleep, went to Memphis to pick up my friend Eric who was in my Roseville youth group.
He spent his spring break in Tennessee, and it was a great visit and very encouraging to both of us. Sorry about the poison oak, Eric.
I put Betty Blue into a pond, more on that in another post.
My TN and KY kids had different spring breaks, so I had two weeks of activities. One of my girls got bit on the nose by a turkey. It was red but didn't bleed.
I performed a wedding in Memphis for some good high school friends, Jonathan and Lisa. The carrot lives on, but no Crest (if you don't get this, don't worry about it.)
Had a camping retreat the weekend of the rainiest freeziest weather that this area has had in April for a long time. Tents got flooded, people got cold, kids had a great time anyway, and the weather created more unity than any lessons I could have given, which was good because it's hard to listen to a lesson when your freezing by a campfire.
I got a new vehicle, more on that later.
I finished my term paper for class. It had to be postmarked by Saturday, but I didn't have it done by the time the post office closed, so I e-mailed it to a friend in Memphis and he put it in the library doors at 10:30 PM Saturday. I e-mailed my professor with this:
Sorry for the unorthodoxed way of getting it to you, but perhaps you will have
an interesting story to tell in future classes about how not to turn in the
essay, but since I never recieved that story, I hope mine will qualify as being
turned in on time.
My essay was on who did Jacob wrestle with in Genesis 32:22-32. I also did a sermon on that passage on Sunday night. More on that in another post.
So that has pretty much summed up my last four weeks.
May 8-15 I will be on vacation in Texas. It has moved back one day so my friend Justin can go also. I'm excited he can come along, plus it leaves a better visiting day with Joel and Sarah. I can be there Monday and drive back Tuesday.
For those in the grad class, how did your papers go?
Ahh, it's good to get a breather. More posts coming right now but read this one first. Oh, you already read the other one, okay, skip the one about the car and pond. You know the story already.

In Comp. Sci., there is only "the paper". I'm working on it.... slowly.
