Yea, so that whole putting a car in a pond worked out in my favor. My Subaru got paid off, I got some money back, and I sold it to the body shop for well over the buy back price. Somehow I made money on the car even witht the work I put into it, and my insurance didn't go up.* That means serious debt is being paid off, I will actually have some savings, I'll be able to take a nice vacation, which was coming from my tax refund. So here is car #4, and when I started shopping this is certainly not the vehicle I would have expected to buy, but I am enjoying it.
Introducing Red Pauerbach:
Red is a 2003 Nissan Sentra SER Spec V. It will go! This car is featured on Need for Speed Underground, and will go 0-60 in 7 seconds. I almost gave myself whiplash driving it home from the dealership going from 35-65. I really don't know how fast it will go, but it is only on 4 RPM at 100 in 6th gear. I will probably never have it up there again, it was on a straight road with a clear view, and even though the car was extremely smooth, it freaked me out. Except for that I never had it over 75.
Other bonuses: I fit. It has a sunroof. It has a 7 speaker Rockford Fosgate stereo. Basically it's loaded. Incredibly torqued 6 speed manuel transmission (only kind available in the Spec V. Way to go Nissan.) 1 horse/16 lbs. 25+ mpg in town. It is a blast to drive. Tremendously responsive accelarator makes it impossible to accidently speed (it you give it too much gas you will feel it instantly.) One year of factory warrenty left. It's already taken its major deprecition hit. And I got it for under trade in value, which means I can trade it in a couple of years and get back most of what I paid for it. Only has 45,000 miles. And my car payments are the same.
*Ok, insurance is going up, but because of the car, not because of my rating.
