So, Yeah, the Concert Was Great

I wouldn't expect it to be anything else. It was different than I was expecting also. Don and Lori and the Robbie Seay Band all played together for the whole thing, and it was a great mix. It was a worship service. They mostly played songs off "Don't Make Us Sing This Song" which is basically the Psalms. ("Don't Make Us Sing This Song" is from Psalm 137, a great title for a great song and a difficult Psalm). They also played "You Are So Good to Me" and "When the Cold Wind Blows" off "You Are So Good to Me" and one off the Robbie Seay Band "Better Life". In the middle Chris Seay (Robbie's older brother) gave a great message about how our consumer culture is the most dangerous difficulty the American church is facing. I do find it ironic that they were doing this to support their new project. I love watching Don play guitar, even if he was subdued for this concert, and Lori's vocals were incredible. Robbie's got a great raspy voice (half way between Bryan Adams and Bruce Springsteen, but with much better music). The two songs I enjoyed the most (this is a hard list, they were great) were probably one Lori sang called, ok, I can't remember the name and I can't find a song list online, but it is the first one on the album and sung my Sandra McCracken on the album. The other one was called "Overwrought" and it was just Don on electric guitar finger picking the strings. It was very quiet, beautiful, and intense as only Don can do it.
I am going to have to carry out my good Christian consumerness and buy the CD.
(written to Fernando Ortega-Home. He doesn't appear on this Voice project, but he very likely could be on a future one.)

Explain more about the consumerist stuff?

All right. No fair starting a blog and then neglecting it. It's taunting and not fair.

Come on, I know you've gotten a new CD in this time or something has happened!
